Earthworks….
Sometimes, admittedly, it’s the seemingly banal that catches my eye. These rocks… a sculpted pile of earthen rubble, clinging to the side of one of the most photographed vantage points in North America, seemed almost like they held their own story–one that, if told, would ebb and flow over millions of years like the making of the canyon itself. In the late afternoon sun, these golden red sandstone made a colorful contrast to the blues of the skies and the white clouds above–in my mind, just aching for a photograph to capture this particular moment in time.
