Purple mountains majesty…
OK, so these aren’t the Rockies, but what else can you say about a mile-high wall of 90-degree violet metamorphic rock? I suppose there is a great deal one could say, but from my vantage point in the middle of the West Rim basin, calmly floating down the Colorado River, honestly few words came to mind. In fact, the quiet is what struck me–the enveloping peace and quiet.
